The subject matter of capacity planning spans all architecture and platforms. Its principles have evolved from the works of many contributors from a variety of contexts. It will cover the mathematical, statistical, and computer science bses of capacity planning with the qualitative, deductive, metaphysical, and unique capabilities normally associated with the philosophy of science --- yet not as academic subject, but rather to best practices. This emphasis on a systems approach to capacity planning, on a conjoining of quantitative and qualitative dimensions, reflects the activity of capacity planning itself.
